My name is Heather Powell, I am a fully qualified Dr Vodder School Manual Lymph Drainage practitioner and a massage therapist, and whilst training for my MLD qualifications I felt intuitively that this was a treatment that could be usefully applied to horses.
To be able to do so I trained in Germany and became the first overseas candidate to qualify to use MLD with horses under the auspices of the Europäisches Seminar für Equine Lymphdrainage. I have equine industry qualifications, and am fully insured to use MLD with animals.
I am based in the Midlands and am happy to travel to see clients wherever possible.

Although primarily aimed at owners and carers of horses I hope this site will be of interest to veterinary surgeons and encourage them to consider the use of EMLD with their patients.
In addition to working with horses I have an established practice with people who find Manual Lymph Drainage effective for a very wide range of medical conditions, relaxation and cosmetic purposes, and to treat lymphoedema and related conditions such as venous insufficiency.

I also practice as a massage therapist using a combination of techniques to treat people involved in a wide range of activities – professional musicians, performers, athletes and sport people - as well as clients who spend many hours sitting at computers or driving, and also to treat those recovering from injury, and those who simply believe (quite rightly!) that they deservea nice massage.
